Kim Kardashian Sued For $100 Million Over ‘LuMee’ Phone Cases.
Hooshmand Harooni obtained a patent for an “integrated lighting accessory and case for a mobile phone device” back in 2013. He then licensed it exclusively to Snap Light LLC, according to #PageSix.
Monday 31st July 2017, Harooni filed a lawsuit against #KimKardashian, her company #Kimsaprincess and #UrbanOutfitters for infringing upon his patent.
Kim has been promoting her ‘LuMee’ lighted selfie phone case for over a year now and Harooni claims that her product is almost a replica to his. The only difference between Harooni’s products and Kim’s products is that Harooni’s includes a built-in charger and Kim’s does not.
#Hooshmand claims that “it has been extremely difficult for Snaplight to compete in the selfie case market against Mrs. #West’s product influence and Defendants’ ongoing infringement” and that he has “suffered financially as a result.”
#Kim K’s team denies Harooni’s claims and doesn’t even believe there is a case on this matter. “The patent lawsuit filed by Snap Light has no merit and is just another attempted shakedown,” Kim Kardashian’s spokesperson tells Page Six Tuesday. “Kim has done absolutely nothing wrong.”
